Clive Sherling was appointed as Non-executive Chairman of the Foundation on 22 July 2009.
He has a wide experience of football and other sports. He is a past Chairman of the Football Licensing Authority and the Sports Aid Foundation Charitable Trust. He was involved with the new Wembley project for ten years and was vice-Chairman of Wembley National Stadium Limited for a number of years.
Clive retired from business life in 2004 having been Chief Operating Officer of Apax Partners, the global private equity firm, and previously a partner at Arthur Andersen. He now acts as a business angel.
Away from sport, Clive is vice-chairman of the Development Council of the National Theatre.
He studied economics at the London School of Economics and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
