Roger Burden

Roger is a Director of the Football Association and is Chairman of the FA’s National Game Board, which oversees the development and governance of football below the professional game.

 

He sits on many of the FA’s committees, including the Judiciary Panel, Board Finance Committee, Protocol Committee and the Remuneration Committee.

 

Roger is Chairman of the Gloucestershire Football Association and has represented his County for the past 12 years on the FA Council. He is also Chairman of the Cheltenham Sunday League and President of the Cheltenham Youth League.

 

Away from football, Roger was Chief Executive and Chairman of Cheltenham & Gloucester plc, the UK’s 3rd largest mortgage lender. In 2001 he was appointed Chairman of the Council of Mortgage Lenders. He is also a former Vice President of the European Mortgage Federation.

 

Roger was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Gloucestershire in recognition of outstanding contribution to financial services and sport.

 

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (FCIB, by examination), Member of the British Computer Society (MBCS, awarded for achievement) and Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (FRSA, awarded in recognition of contribution to financial services).
