community large grant scheme

The Community Large Grant scheme aims to create opportunities and build communities by funding projects that use football and sport as a force for social change. We fund projects that seek to harness the undeniable power of football to inspire people to engage in football, and sport in general, and to lead more positive lives.

The Community Large Grant scheme has now closed for Stage One submissions.

The Scheme includes:

  • two stage application process - all requests for funding will have to be submitted by completing the Stage One form. Groups that are successful at Stage One will be notified and invited to enter Stage Two.

  • Application windows’ - The next window for when Stage One submissions will be accepted will be October 2009.

More information about the Community Large Grant can be accessed from the Community Large Grant page.

grow the game

Grow the Game aims to increase participation by both players and volunteers in grass roots football by supporting the cost associated with providing new activity.

The new scheme will accept applications from 3 July 2009.

To help us manage the high demand for funding we are introducing:

  • 'Application windows' - rather than a rolling open programme, all requests for funding will have to be submitted by completing the application form within a limited period. The form will be available from 3 July 2009 and the deadline for submissions will be 28 August. All groups that have been successful will be notified by 1 December 2009.

  • A maximum grant award of £5,000. Educational establishments will be able to apply for up to 50% of this.

  • No partnership funding will be required.

  • A simplified application form including a funding 'menu' for applicants to choose from.
