Security of tenure
To be eligible for funding, your club must be a member of the English Football League and either own the freehold of the site you want to develop or have a lease with at least 10 years left before it runs out. You may be eligible if your club has a licence agreement, but we will consider each licence agreement separately.
Grant Limits
Grants will be limited to 50% of eligible costs and the following upper limit applies:
All Football League clubs: £750,000
In addition, a total of £200,000 of the FSIF annual budget will be ring-fenced each year to support the two clubs promoted from the Football Conference to the Football League to cover the costs of required safety installations, such as computerised turnstiles, CCTV, stadium control rooms, etc.
For clubs promoted into the Football League for the first time, the grant limit for major projects could be lower because we may take account of other grants your club has received in the past.
If your club is relegated from the Football League and you are eventually promoted back into the League but we gave you more than £750,000 towards a major project before you were relegated, we will not be able to give you any more funding towards your major projects.
We will decide what percentage of the full amount of your project we can give you based on the type project you put forward. We base grants on the league you were in at the time you sent your application, regardless of whether you are relegated or promoted after that, unless your promotion or relegation has been confirmed by the league at the time you sent your application to us.
Eligible work
We can provide grants for major development projects and projects to make necessary safety improvements.
