Do I have to fill in the online application form all in one go?
No. When you start to fill in an online form you are prompted to use the 'Save' button at the bottom of the page. Whenever you click this button you will be emailed a link to the unfinished form. You can go back and continue filling it in as many times as you like and for as long as you like. You can even email the link to other members of your organisation to fill out different sections. You should save it whenever you want to leave the form to make sure the latest data has been recorded.
What happens when I submit an online application form?
When you submit an online form, you receive a confirmation email. The rest of the assessment process happens in the usual way - phone calls and letters. Some email providers, such as Hotmail, filter out emails from the Foundation depending on the settings you use. We are working to resolve this issue, although in the mean time if you do not receive an confirmation email, please let us know as soon as possible.
Can I see my form after i HAVE SUBMITTED IT?
No, not at the moment. In time we will produce a paper copy of the form which will be emailed to you when you submit it. In the meantime, please print your form before you submit it and keep this for your records. To do this, click on the 'Review' button at the bottom of the last page. Note - you may need to go to 'File', 'Page Set Up', and select 'Landscape' to be able to print the whole form.
Alternatively, you can contact the relevant administrator for the grant you are applying for, who will be able to email you a copy of your form.
who can i contact if there is a technical problem with the online application form?
If you have a technical problem with your online application form, you should email the team responsible for the form you are filling in.
Can I use a paper application form?
The short answer is yes. We will be accepting the old printed application forms for the foreseeable future. These forms are still available by request through the usual system. However, there are significant benefits for both you and Foundation of using online forms. We anticipate that if everyone used online application forms, the time taken to get a decision will half. This is due to the significant administration required to process a hand written form, such as logging them, producing and distributing printed files, and compiling assessment reports. The majority of this can be greatly reduced through online forms, thus allowing Foundation staff to concentrate on assessment rather than administration. Please use the online form if at all possible as ultimately it will help us to process your application more quickly.
Future development
All applications forms have been undergone extensive development, consultation and testing. However, we appreciate that they can all be improved to make them as streamlined and easy to use as possible. We welcome any feedback in achieving this, as changes to forms can be made very easily and immediately republished online.
We appreciate that many applicants like to use paper forms in compiling your applications. For this reason, applicants will be able to print off a form direct from the website within the next few weeks. However, for the reasons mentioned above we would appreciate it if as many applications as possible are submitted using the online forms.
