junior kit scheme grant

Important notice

Due to unprecedented demand for the Junior Kit Scheme, the Football Foundation is not accepting any new applications until further notice.

Full applications already received and acknowledged will be processed as normal.

What is the scheme?

The Junior Kit Scheme provides money for football kit and equipment to under 18 teams and adults with disabilities.

Can you apply?

Any club, school or organisation can apply for a kit grant including all representative teams at a junior level up to and including District. Applications are also welcome from disabled groups of all ages.

To be eligible for funding, groups must:

  • Be within the qualifying age group: Under 7s - Under 18s (with the exception of adults with disabilities).

  • Adhere to the Football Foundation’s Junior Kit Scheme three-year rule regardless of how many teams are in operation at your organisation.
  • Clubs may have two kit grants every 3 years provided that they are for different genders.
  • Schools, meanwhile, are only entitled to one kit grant every 3 years.

  • Either have achieved FA Charter Standard, or agree to work towards this standard within a period of 12 months. For further advice please contact your local County FA.
  • This does not currently apply to schools. Instead, we ask schools to be participating in or commit to the FA School-Club link programme.

  • Include a copy of their Child Protection Policy (not applicable to schools). For further information on safeguarding children, please visit the Football Safe section of the FA website.

  • Have a minimum of ten registered members that would benefit from the grant.

  • Be playing regular fixtures (league/cup/friendlies) in England and/or affiliated to an English County FA.

  • Not have teams of mixed gender for age groups 11years and over, in accordance with FA ruling.

  • Unfortunately the Junior Kit Scheme grant does not fund County football teams, Centres of Excellence, football academies, leagues, 5-a-side teams or independent schools.

What do we look for?

Each application is judged purely on whether the organisation meets the conditions shown above and needs a kit. If you meet the criteria we will offer you a voucher. If you don't meet the criteria we will reject your application.

What do we give money for?

Team strip and basic training equipment.

In applying for the Junior Kit Scheme grant, applicants are agreeing to purchase a minimum of seven football shirts in their order as part of our terms and conditions.

Please note that unfortunately there is no wet or cold weather clothing available under the Junior Kit Scheme grant at present.

Once you have placed your order, please phone the Nike helpline on 01274 724433 if you have any questions about delivery or missing items.

How much money can we give you?

If successful, you will receive a £400 voucher to spend in the catalogue of our supplier, Nike.
