Premier League Community Facility Fund

The Premier League (PL) has committed £6 million per year for the next three years into a ring fenced facility pot, to be called the Premier League Community Facility Fund (PLCFF), to be accessed by professional clubs through their community organisations and managed and administered by the Football Foundation (FF).

The PLCFF will have the overall aim of providing facilities aligned to professional club community-led inclusion schemes which will serve to increase sports participation and physical activity in deprived, inner city areas.

The PLCFF will sit under the Premier League Creating Chances (PLCC) umbrella brand for community good causes which has the stated purpose “through the power of football we make a difference, empowering our clubs to create opportunities at the heart of their communities that bring people together and change lives for the better”.

PLCC has four domestic strands and the PLCFF will contribute to meeting strategic objectives under each of these areas:

Community Cohesion – bring communities together, creating inclusive environments and opportunities that channel the energy and potential of hard to reach (young) people into positive activities that contribute to safer and stronger communities.

Education – provide inspirational learning and personal development opportunities that motivate, improve skills, and enhance self-esteem, encouraging educational and entrepreneurial achievement.

Health – promote healthy lifestyles, increase physical activity, tackle sensitive health issues and improve wellbeing, changing lives for good in our communities.

Sports Participation – widen access to sport and provide pathways that enable (young) people to realise their full potential, experience the sheer enjoyment of taking part and benefit from a more active lifestyle.
