Evesham United inWorcestershire received
£945,457 for a new community football complex
Evesham United worked with theWorcestershire County
FA to secure a massive £955,457 wor th of funding from
the Foundation towards building a new community football
complex at their new home ground that the club and the
local community could be proud of.
After years of hard work, fundraising, and various challenges
to overcome, the Robins Spiers & Har twell Jubilee Stadium
opened in style this year, with a match against a Manchester
United XI that included former stars, Dennis Irwin, Sammy
McIlroy, Clayton Blackmore and Andy Ritchie.
Evesham’s new site includes six changing rooms, seven
community grass pitches, and a space for social functions.
The facility enables the club to provide proper facilities
to host matches. More importantly, they can now meet
the growing demand for football in the local community
and deliver a five-year Football Development Plan, which
will see their number of teams increase from 22 to 42 –
bringing the total number of club members to 670.
“The project has taken years of planning and
to see the stadium complete and ready to use
makes it all worth while.”
