The Foundation is proudly working in partnership with City Hall on delivering the
Mayor of London: Facility Fund (MoL:FF).The Fund is part of the Mayor, Boris Johnson’s,
commitment to deliver a sporting legacy for London from the 2012 Olympic and
Paralympic Games.
Every single London Borough is benefiting from new or refurbished sports facilities
thanks to this Fund – in fact to date 77 separate local facilities across the Capital are
being built or enhanced with £5.5m of MoL:FF investment!
To give you a taster, here are three examples of new facilities that have already been
built thanks to the Fund.

multi-sport site in Enfield

The refurbished QEII stadium in Enfield,
Nor th London, funded by the Mayor
of London: Facility Fund was officially
opened by Team GB Olympic athlete,
Margaret Adeoye.
The London 2012 200m semi-finalist
cut the ribbon on the new facility, which
will also provide a new home for Enfield
Town Football Club.
A MoL: FF grant of £250,000 helped to
pay for the refurbishments, which include
the construction of new, high quality
changing facilities that will cater for users
of the 30 pitches adjacent to the stadium,
across a wide range of different spor ts.
With the help of the Middlesex FA and
Enfield Council, Enfield Town FC also
secured additional partnership funding of
£493,000 from the Football Foundation
towards the development.
Tim Harrison, Leisure Facilities
Development Manager at Enfield Council,
said:
“We are very grateful to the
Football Foundation and the Mayor of
London: Facility Fund for their generous
grants towards the refurbishment of the
QEII stadium.
“It has contributed towards restoring a
landmark facility to its former glory; the
stadium will be of great benefit to the
residents of Enfield and will encourage
more people to take part in sport and
physical activity.”
