AMBASSADORS STARS MAKE THEIR DEBUTS FOR THE FOUNDATION We are incredibly lucky to enjoy the support of some fantastic Ambassadors at the Football Foundation. They generously give their time to help us convey the impact of the Foundation’s efforts and our Funding Partners’ investment. Some new recruits have made their first appearances in a Foundation shirt recently, which you can read about below. IN ACTION S cottish international defender and Captain of Norwich City FC, Russell Martin, got to work when he visited the Open Academy to meet staff and pupils – seeing how their new 3G pitch was progressing in a hands-on way! The project has been made possible thanks to a £498,789 grant from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund. The school’s ‘out building’ has also been completely transformed to include modern changing rooms, social spaces, toilet facilities and a reception area. The new facility is now complete. It is used by the school 8am-5pm and Norfolk County FA oversee the community usage in the evening and weekends. Local clubs Sprowston FC, Old Catton Juniors FC and Wroxham FC who also have an Academy Sixth Form SCOTLAND AND NORWICH DEFENDER PITCHES IN programme based at the school – are all regular users. It is also a base for Norfolk FA and Norwich City FC Community Sports Foundation initiatives, such as the Premier League 4 Sport initiative. It was Russell’s first engagement after agreeing to lend his support to the Foundation. He has also just launched his own Foundation and Academy, which you can learn more about here:
