Panathlon Challenge provides a structured coaching and competition pathway for severely disabled young Londoners. Panathlon provides training days for community coaches and teachers in football and multisports, provides much need sports equipment, coaching bursaries enabling thousands of man hours of football and multisports activity to take place, and then a structured London wide multisports competition.

What are the long term benefits of the project on the community?

Over 7,500 active man hours of sport in 2010 by the most severely disabled young people in London, bring health benefits as well as improving sporting skills, increased confidence, motivation and teamwork.

How has the Foundation's funding made a significant positive difference?

There has been an 83% rise in 2010 of young disabled people coached with another 68% rise in number of coaching hours delivered and an 18% rise in number of competitors taking part. We now have nearly 600 young disabled footballers in London taking part in Panathlon and we have started Powerchair Football in 2010 and plan to involve football for visually impaired footballers in 2011.
