On Saturday 21 August at 1.30pm saw the official opening of The Welland Pavilion. Despite the poor weather there was a great turn out including the local radio station Hereford and Worcester (who will be ran a feature on the Club, including the project and future plans).
The Foundation’s President Lord Pendry attended the event. He was shown around the site and made a speech saying:
“This facility will put ‘Welland Juniors at the heart of the football community in Worcestershire’ and will help develop the footballers of the future for years to come”.
This was received well by all who attended and made the Chairman Peter Manion very proud of his team for all their hard work.
Overall the day was a complete success and everyone was very complementary and impressed with the project and is looking forward to the new football season. The pavilion will be a great asset to the community.
