Duncan Hames MP, also attended to help the local community celebrate. The new artificial grass pitch and additional changing rooms were made possible with the help of a £351,227 grant from the Football Foundation.

The new Artificial Grass Pitch and building extension will allow the Town Council and the 80+ local clubs who use it to progress and further develop. The new artificial pitch will be a huge benefit during all weather. The new facilities at Stanley Park will allow Chippenham Town Council to further develop and attract more football clubs and players plus followers of the sport from all ages and abilities.

Billy explained how the training session benefits young players at grass roots level: "The session I ran was a 45 minute freestyle clinic teaching the younger ones some tricks and skills. Not ones they can use during a match but ones that can improve their technique, coordination, balance and ball control but most importantly it’s about having fun and building confidence."
