theo walcott becomes junior kit ambassador

 

Arsenal and England star Theo Walcott is the Ambassador for the Junior Kit Scheme. He went back to his old primary school to talk to BBC's Football Focus about his junior kit role.

Your Game is a partnership between the BBC and the Football Foundation which offers young people, aged 16 to 25, from under-served communities the chance to get involved in football, music and the media.

premier league reading stars launch

 

Premier League Reading Stars is a scheme managed by the Football Foundation that encourages people across the country to get into reading. Middlesbrough FC's goalkeeper and Reading Champion Mark Schwarzer attended the launch of 2008's Premier League Reading Stars, where he spoke exclusively to BBC One's Football Focus.

supporting the women's game

  

The Football Foundation's 2003 survey of football facilities across England found that they were in a poor state and that 95% did not even cater for women's football - the fastest growing sport in the country. Foundation Chief Executive Paul Thorogood conducted media interviews to demonstrate the charity's work in supporting women's football and football more widely, including an online interview which was featured on 21 websites and watched by over 24 million people worldwide.

barclays spaces for sports

 

The Barclays Spaces for Sports scheme is a partnership between Barclays, Groundwork and the Football Foundation, providing £30m to create or improve sports facilities in communities across the UK.

show racism the red card

 

Show Racism the Red Card is an anti-racist charity, which specialises in producing educational resources. The aim of the campaign is to combat racism through the use of footballers as anti-racist role models. The Football Foundation is a major sponsor of this campaign.

 

An annual anti-racism schools competition is run by the campaign, with more than 70,000 entries in the 2008 competition.

Former England defender John Scales joined Football Foundation Chief Executive Paul Thorogood to lead a media campaign on participation in sports at grass roots level.
