Blackpool FC Manager, Ian Holloway returned to his old school to declare their new community sports site officially open. A plaque was unveiled during the opening ceremony taking place on Thursday 15th September 2011 at Sir Bernard Lovell School.
The facilities at Sir Bernard Lovell School will lead to a significant increase in participation on site. The planned facilities will benefit not only their local partnership clubs with over 2,000 playing members and 1,200 social members, but it will also enhance and improve the quality of physical education classes for pupils. Forecasts suggest that in total over 3,300 people will use the new facilities for football each week, an increase of 182% on previous findings.
