The Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF), supporters of the Football Foundation, and the largest
funder of non league football in the country, today announced a grant of £28,269 to Frome Town
Football Club.

This award will enable Frome Town Football Club to build a new 250 seater stand at their AlderSmith
Stadium ground as part of the FA ground grading requirements for Step 3 of the non-league system. The
Club have worked hard over the last few months to match the grant award through fundraising and donations and Club Secretary Ian Pearce said of the news: “We are thrilled at being given this grant by the FSIF which will secure our status in the Southern League Premier Division and we are delighted at the support we have received from the community as a whole to get to this stage. Our thanks go to the staff at the FSIF whose support and advice on this project has been invaluable”.

Funded with £6m each year from the Premier League, the FSIF is the country’s largest provider of grants
towards projects that help improve the comfort and safety of lower league football grounds in both the
professional and amateur game. These improvements range from new football stands and turnstiles
to floodlighting and improved provision for disabled supporters.

Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Stadia Improvement Fund and Football Foundation, said:
“On behalf of the Football Stadia Improvement Fund I am delighted to be able to award this grant to Frome
Town FC towards their new stand.

“A vibrant community team is vital for the future of football. The FSIF, with money provided by the Premier
League, aims to revolutionise funding for the grassroots in the same way the professional game has been
transformed.”
