subject New Community Sports Facilities in Ewhurst Start To Take Shape
press release

The building of new community sports facilities commenced on 28th March 2009 on site at Ewhurst Recreation Ground, following the successful submission of Planning Permission by Ewhurst Parish Council.

The team at Sports Solutions GB helped the Parish Council secure over £315,881 from the Football Foundation, as well as further grant funding from the Youth Capital Fund, a High Sheriff Youth Award and Grassroots Grants.  Work has now started on the much needed facilities for the local community.

Richard Cleaves, Chairman of Ewhurst Parish Council said: “We are pleased to see the new EYSC building taking shape; it has been a long time in the planning.  The work on the improvement of the pitches starts in June, which will bring them up to FA standards.  The whole project will upgrade all the facilities for the Football clubs and Youth Club, plus the local community, when it is finished.”

The existing wooden pavilion is being replaced by a new two storey changing pavilion and the current grass pitches are being upgraded to include a full size grass football pitch, a junior size grass football pitch and a mini-soccer pitch.  Ewhurst Youth Club expects to be able to enjoy the new facilities by the start of the 2009/10 season.

Sports Solutions GB’s Managing Director, Chris Bevan, said “We are delighted to start on site at Ewhurst Recreation Ground on this eagerly anticipated and important sports facility.  It is always exciting to reach this stage in a sports development project and that is particularly true with Ewhurst which has a great need for the new facility.”
