Mayor of London: Facilities Fund

Friday 24 June 2011 saw Derek underwood and Jim Dowd MP officially open the new outdoor nets at the cricket club. 150 guests joined the club to celebrate the grand opening which was followed by a BBQ at the ground.

The new nets will help ensure the club can accommodate the growing number of users. The club is one of only two cricket clubs in Lewisham and as the only one able to provide outdoor training facilities, the new nets will allow the numbers to continue to grow.

Catford & Cyphers Cricket Club have numerous links with local schools and Kent County Cricket Club base all its Lewisham district players at the club. Consequently, the club has recently had a few county selections which in turn results in the club being able to offer cricket coaching, competitive cricket matches and for the more ambitious players, a route through to County level cricket.
