Press release

Stephen Gilbert MP cut the ribbon on a £70,000 upgrade to changing room facilities at Nanpean Rovers AFC on Saturday.

The club required urgent roof insulation and heating systems to be installed at their 50-year-old pavilion to ensure the facility remains fit-for-purpose and sustainable.

The club worked in partnership with the Cornwall FA to secure a grant of £19,250 from the Football Foundation towards the project. Funded by the Premier League, The FA, and the Government (via Sport England), the Football Foundation is the country’s largest sports charity. Since it was launched in 2000, the Foundation has awarded around 8,000 grants worth more than £420m towards improving grassroots sport, which it has used to attract additional partnership funding of over £520m.

Further funding came from SITA Cornwall Trust, Clay Country Local Action and St Stephen in Brannel Parish Council.
