Barclays Spaces for Sports is a £30million programme to create sustainable sports facilities in disadvantaged communities across the UK. It is the country’s single biggest investment in grassroots sport by a private company.
In partnership with Groundwork and the Football Foundation, the Barclays Spaces for Sports programme has worked closely with communities across the UK who most needed our help.
Together we identified disused or worn out areas which have been regenerated into sporting facilities that local residents need. They now provide access to sport where this didn’t previously exist.
The Spaces for Sports programme has three strands:
- the Regeneration of 200 spaces to create sporting facilities
- a development fund which will see a revenue tail supporting each of the sites now the physical regeneration has been completed
- an allocation of Coaching Kit and Equipment packs.
