Queens Park Rangers in the Community Trust's ExtraTime club is for local residents who are over 60 and runs every Wednesday morning 10am-12noon. QPR's project started in November 2009 and now has 40 members. The aim of the project is to get participants active and so far have had taster sessions in dance and pilates, a tour of the ground, Aerobics, as well as five week blocks of Tai Chi. They have had complimentary tickets to four home games at QPR. The group also had a Christmas party and Chinese food at the end of the Tai Chi sessions. The Community Trust team are planning to take the Extra Time group on a day trip when the weather improves.
Fiona Hodgson, Funding Manager for QPR in the Community Trust, commented: "It is a very social group with many new friendships forming and is a very rewarding group to work with."
