Epworth town colts afc

Epworth Town Colts AFC is based on the isle of Axholme, North Lincolnshire. It is a community based club with teams catering for boys and girls from 9-16 years of age. They currently have in excess of 150 players registered, not including the academy which is aimed at getting younger children (aged 6-9) interested in sport and having fun.

The Club has worked hard over the past few years culminating in becoming a Football Association Charter Standard Club. Training sessions are now provided by FA qualified coaches and qualified referees oversee matches in a variety of leagues across the Scunthorpe and Humberside region.

Epworth Town Colts has an open access policy designed to attract boys and girls, regardless of ability, from the town of Epworth and the surrounding villages. But it is not just the power of football that the Club uses to engage young children. It encourages players to take part in social activities and days out in order to enhance the “team” ethic which is vital both on and off the field of play.

The Club was successful with their two applications for the Junior Kit Scheme in respect of the 3 year rule for clubs. With this they have chosen to purchase a set of away shirts to help avoid any kit clashes in the forthcoming season.

Mark Degnan, kit and equipment officer for the club, said, “Working with the Football Foundation’s Junior Kit Scheme was extremely straight forward. The guys at Sportsbulk Suppliers (the Foundation’s nominated Nike supplier) were great, very eager to help and accommodate our order swiftly and professionally. All the players love their shirts, especially as they are Nike! So, all in all, a massive thank you to everyone at the Football Foundation.”
