Arsenal in The Community was set up in 1985 and it was one of the first in professional football. Since the beginning, the Community department has led in innovative sports development in the local community and is committed to offering a range of sporting, social inclusion, educational and charitable projects, the success of which is testament to the commitment and dedication of its staff and the power of football and Arsenal Football Club to touch people’s lives on a local, regional and global scale.

Community Education Programme
This scheme is taking place in local primary and secondary schools.
‘Diversity/Citizenship’ allow children to learn more about other people’s cultures through school assemblies and classroom activities. Children receive a resource pack and are able to take part in a competition as well as a stadium visit.
‘Pupil Referral Units’ (PRU) allow young people already on this scheme to receive support with numeracy and literacy on top of their current football programme.
