Healthy Goals for Life

This is a multi-sports project running two hour sessions for primary and secondary school children after-school and during school holidays.

Children learn about nutrition, diet, substance misuse, communication skills and team work. They also have the chance to play lots of games like football, rugby, netball, volleyball, hockey and rounders.

Children log their experiences within their personal resource books.

'Healthy goals for life' was launched on 11 September 2008.

For more information about how your school can get involved contact Jayne Jackson on jjackson@bwfitc.co.uk or on 01204 480601.

Healthy Goals for Life Launch

Kick Start

A project for children in care at residential units and from foster families. Participants take part in weekly sport coaching such as football, netball, hockey and basketball.

The second stage invites the participants to the Bolton Arena to participate in further activities such as badminton, tennis and fitness sessions as well as study support sessions. This combines two hours of sports activity and one hour of numeracy, literacy and ICT skills.

Each participant are able to form their own teams and enter the youth leagues at Bolton Arena. As well as this, training courses are provided for young people leaving care to enter employment through work placement opportunities.
