Football Foundation - football's biggest supporter
.

burnley football club community sports trust

The Trust was formed in 1998 under the ‘football in the community’ umbrella as part of the Professional Footballers’ Association national programme. Since then, the Trust has quickly established itself into a major scheme and has won a number of awards such as the Business in The Community Award.

In 2006, having already been established as a charity and due to its continued growth and success, the organisation was re-branded as Burnley Football Club Community Sports Trust.

The Trust is a self-funded organisation and currently covers three main areas:

  • Stadium Fitness – The Football Club contains one of the most comprehensive fitness suites in the area with state of the art equipment and facilities.

  • Leisure Centre – This caters for a variety of sports for community use including a six-badminton court hall, class rooms, football and netball leagues and much more.

  • Sport in the Community – Highly qualified and experienced full-time staff deliver multi sport sessions to over 250 schools and groups, including over 40,000 children from the local area.

As Burnley Football Club have been promoted to the Premier League for season 2009/10, the PL/PFA Community Fund is looking forward to working with the Community Sports Trust.
