This successful literacy, numeracy, healthy lifestyles and football programme is now running at 36 Portsmouth primary schools per year.

Activity is delivered during breakfast clubs, lunch times and after school to children who will benefit the most from receiving extra literacy and numeracy sessions.

Learning materials are based on the football club to motivate and enthuse the pupils.

Get on Board

This project combines the exciting history of the Mary Rose and Portsmouth Footballl Club through cultural learning and physical activity sessions.

18 primary schools in the Portsmouth region are taking part in this six week programme. Students who complete the course will receive a tour of both the Mary Rose Museum and Fratton Park. They will then have the opportunity to showcase their experience using the latest technology at the Pompey Study Centre and the work they produce will be displayed at the museum.

This project was launched at the Historical Dockyard on the 22nd of October 2009. David James and Richard Hughes attended to officially launch the project; they also took part in recontructed gun run races with children from local schools.
