Sunderland were proud to be one of the first football clubs to have a community scheme and it is now six years since it became a charity.

This project is for 13-16 year olds who have been or are at risk of being excluded from school or who are Not in Education, Employment or Training.
Young people benefit from the following three programmes:
- Pitstop – works with excluded young people on a full time basis to help them get back into mainstream education.
- GOAL – an Award Scheme Development and Accreditation Network (ASDAN) scheme that reduces the number of young people being excluded. It includes one-to-one counselling and a bespoke development plan for each participant.
- Going for Goals – special intervention scheme designed for primary school children to add disengagement at an early stage and to help with the transition into secondary education.
