Kate Hoey MP officially unveiled the Westway Climbing Centre, a unique charity-run climbing centre in the White City area of West London. The centre is the first sports project in the capital to benefit from Mayor Boris Johnson’s fund. It was awarded £42,000 to replace and make fully accessible one of the bouldering walls.
The climbing centre is the only combined climbing and bouldering centre in the country. It currently trains half of the national junior British climbing team and has produced Britain’s most successful ever climber at European level, Kitty Wallace.
