Friday 9 September 2011 saw the the Mayor of Greenwich, Cllr Jim Gillman officially open the track in Hornfair Park, Charlton.
The track was developed thanks to a £126,000 grant from the Mayor of London’s fund. The Charlton track is linked with the six other BMX tracks in the 2012 Olympic host boroughs and to the facilities in the Olympic Park. Greenwich BMX club will host local BMX racing competitions at Hornfair Park as well as events with neighbouring clubs in other London boroughs.
