facilities grant

Stage 1 – Every grant recipient completes a detailed monitoring and evaluation form at the end of each football season/academic year. This is repeated each year for up to the duration of the grant agreement. The form covers the main outcomes of the scheme – who is using the facility and when, by age, ethnicity, gender, area of residence; club and volunteer development; and pricing policy. This is then compared to the plan submitted with the application. A progress report is produced and sent to the relevant county FA in preparation for stage 2 monitoring.

Stage 2 – Every grant recipient is required to attend a review meeting, where progress is discussed and future targets set. This is repeated annually, for the duration of the grant agreement. The meetings are carried out by county FA development staff, and attended by FA, Foundation and other local agencies as appropriate. Any potential problems, or examples of good practice, are flagged up in a report to the Foundation which may result in stage 3 monitoring.

Stage 3 – Independent consultants are used for projects that are flagged up in stage 1 or 2. The consultants then visit the project and partner organisations, recommending remedial action where appropriate. This report is forwarded to the grant recipient and county FA to be actioned, with progress being assessed at the following year’s Stage 2 progress meeting.

In addition:

All facility grant projects require at least one site visit by an Foundation staff member, or nominee. It is important that you let us know when you start work on the project, and when you anticipate it will be complete. To do this you will need to complete and return an ‘On site’ Form approximately one to two weeks before you start building work. Failure to do this is likely to result in delays to the full payment of the grant.
