Apprentices on Charlton Athletic's Community Trust (CACT) Sports Coaching Programme attended a hands-on CV writing workshop at the Barclays Spaces for Sports Flagship with the help and professional advice from 10 members of Barclays staff

The Barclays team had volunteered to go out into the community and give something back under their “Make a Difference Day”, travelling from their offices at  Canary Wharf to meet the Apprentices at the Charlton Flagship site in Sparrows Lane.

In the UK Barclays has delivered 200 physical sports sites across many disadvantaged areas through a successful partnership with the Football Foundation. Using sport as the platform, Barclays Spaces for Sports engages communities to deliver an important range of life skills.

The interactive workshop highlighted the  importance  of ensuring that CV’s are well presented and structured, concise, informative and most importantly, completely error free.

Charlie aged 17, one of the 15 Apprentices said, “I found this session really helpful.  We had the chance to go through our own CV’s and got advice on how to improve them.  Mine is much better now. It was good to talk to people who do interviews and ask them about the things they look for in your CV’s and at interviews”.

Stacey Beckham, Trust Coach  who leads this programme said, “We would like to thank the team from Barclays for giving their time, valuable advice and help with the group’s CVs. Helping to equip the young people with life-skills is an important part of our programme.”
