Football Foundation Quarterly Briefing - May 2016

Date published: 13/05/2016

Please find our latest investment briefing below.

This details the total funding invested into the grassroots through the Football Foundation since 2000 by its core funding partners (the Premier League, The FA, and the Government / Sport England) and our other CSR partners, such as Barclays and the Mayor of London/GLA.

We have awarded more than 14,200 grants worth nearly £560m towards grassroots sports schemes, attracting a further £787m in partnership funding. This means in total we have delivered more than £1.3bn of community sport projects since 2000.

Last season we achieved an average increase in football participation of 7% at facilities that we had invested in, and an average increase of 8% across all sports at those same sites.  These substantial leaps in the numbers of people playing sport at facilities that we have increased the capacity and improved the quality of, by targeting our Funding Partners' investment into areas of greatest need and where it will have the biggest impact, have been consistently achieved, year-on-year.
