Football Foundation appoints new Board member

The Premier League, The FA and Government’s Football Foundation has appointed Clare Sumner CBE to its Board, representing the Premier League as one of its funding partners.
Clare will help oversee the governance of the charity’s work, taking over from the Premier League’s Peter McCormick OBE who stepped down this spring after dedicating 17 years to supporting the grassroots game through his role at the Foundation.
Chief Policy and Social Impact Officer Clare, joined the Premier League in January 2024. She works with Government and Parliament and leads on equality, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and supporting the game. Clare also oversees the Premier League's investment into all levels of football, grassroots facilities and communities.
Clare will be working with Chair of Trustees Martin Glenn and fellow Board members to support Football Foundation CEO Robert Sullivan and the wider team to ensure that all investment is spent wisely and effectively to strengthen communities through the power of football.
